A research seminar titled "The Trend of Supercomputing and High Performance Fortran" was held in the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies, Kyoto University on March 12, 2004. Y. Seo, H. Sakagami, H. Iwashita, and H. Murai of HPFPC presented the trend and future of parallel-software technologies such as HPF.
Besides these presentations above, M. Aoki of Fujitsu, Ltd. introduced the hardware and software of PRIMEPOWER HPC2500, which had been installed in the Academic Center for Computing and Media Studies.
The 2nd general meeting was also held after the seminar.
