Bank: IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!

Most of Hotels in Japan  usually do not accept foreign currency nor exchange. They accept most of credit cards.
It is better way you make money exchange at banks located in Narita Airport.
They open long hours while airplane arrives and even on weekend.
Otherwise banks in the city only opens 900-1500h Mon-Friday only. Not all of their branches do not treat foreign currency. only big branchs buy and sell them.
There are ATM at railroad stations or department stores etc. But we found that most of them are not linked to STAR, Explore systems, Cirrus, Maestro, etc world-wide banking systems. Cashing service by ViSA or other credit cards may be available although we have no experience if you can read Japanese. We do not think there are English version ATM.
Since you need to pay in Japanese Yen to get ticket of JR Narita Express or Limouzine bus and our registration fee, best way is to get JPY at the Airport.
We are sorry that we can not accept cards nor foreign currency for registration completely.
